“It’s exciting to see upgrades to the Wellness Centre at Crookwell Hospital finished,” Southern NSW Local Health District Chief Executive Margaret Bennett said.
“The Wellness Centre is valued by local residents, and we’ve received plenty of positive feedback about the refurbishment from those who regularly use the Centre.”
The upgrades of the Wellness Centre included:
- New patient kitchen
- New vinyl floor coverings
- Shower facility upgrades
- The widening of doors to improve access
- External ramp access
With the upgrade to the Wellness Centre completed in August, local contractors have been appointed for the early works in the Main Hospital (Hutton Wing) which include relocations and improvements to the records storage area, office fitouts and an upgrade to the medication room. Detailed design & documentation for the Emergency Department (ED) is continuing.
“The $2.5 million project is on track to be completed by mid-2021,” Ms Bennett said.
“Following the preferred design being selected in June 2020, further recent work to the ED redevelopment plans saw adjustments made to meet building and fire compliance standards. The next steps include approvals by the relevant authorities, in line with the tender process commencing late October 2020. The project remains on track for completion by mid-2021.”
