Yes
Yes. But you can only receive one of each type this financial year. So if you receive a domestic travel grant this financial year, you can't apply for another domestic travel grant this financial year.
No. Showcase performances will count as a single event. But if there are other dates around the showcase performance it could count towards a tour.
If you have applied to a recent Create NSW program, you can still apply to the Sound NSW programs. But if it's for the same project, you won't be able to receive funding for the same project twice. Sound NSW will cross-check funding decisions.
We have advertised a two week turnaround from applying to notification. So your tour must start at least two weeks after the application is submitted.
No. Unfortunately, we do require confirmation of the activity to be eligible. While this opportunity can't be supported this round, we hope to offer future programs that might be able to support activity happening later in 2024.
No. We would consider this two seperate tours, and you can only receive one grant for international activity.
Funding should cover you and the backing band in the first instance. If the support bands are NSW residents, and playing at least three shows, they could submit their own application.
Yes. As long as you are performing your own new and original work that you can evidence in your application.
No, unless they are supporting the tour. Our funding can cover travel and accommodation costs for childcare support, but wont support the travel and accommodation costs of children.
We won't fund content creators, publicity or solical media roles. We can fund a maximum of six people in the touring party, including musicians, manager, tour manager, technical production crew (e.g. sound, roadies, lighting) and additional support for people with disability, family or cultural needs.
We can't fund performance fees as part of this program. We can only fund travel and accommodation costs, which does include per diems, but not artist fees.
This could include an itinerary from a booking agent or direct invitation to perform from a festival, venue or promoter. Emails or screenshots of conversations confirming this are fine.

Recording and Promotion Grant 23/24 funding program supports the recording and promotion of new and original contemporary music by NSW artists with:
- Up to $25,000 for short-form releases
- Up to $50,000 for long-form releases and
- Up to $25,000 matched funding for releases by artists signed to a major label.

The recording will need to be released and promotional activity started before 30 June 2025.
No. You are limited to one application to Recording and Promotion.
No. The project needs to include both recording and promotional components. If the recording has already happened, we can't retrospectively fund those costs.
For the purpose of this program, we consider you signed to a major label if you are signed directly to one of Sony, Universal, Warner, EMI, Atlantic, Virgin or Island.
Previously recorded music that is publicly available, including online platforms like Spotify, Youtube, Bandcamp, Soundcloud. Live videos published online do not count.
As long as you can demonstrate a track record of recording and releasing music, even if under a different name, you will be eligible.
Yes. And you should allocate yourself a producer fee in the budget.
Yes, funding can cover a fee for songwriting and creative development. The songs just need to be recorded, released and promoted as part of this project.
No. Touring activity should come through the Touring and Travel Fund.
No, this program won't support the purchase of equipment.

The grant is for supporting new and original recordings, so the focus of the recording project would need to be songs you have written or had written for you.
