Our vision
Western NSW is a vibrant and diverse region, rich in community and culture. At Western NSW LHD, we recognise the challenge of delivering health care across the scale and diversity of the Western NSW region. We are committed to delivering world class health services to meet the needs of our communities into the future.
Our vision is to support healthier people and thriving communities.
Our purpose is to deliver exceptional care to the people of Western NSW
Our plans
Western NSW LHD works to a number of plans that guide our service delivery.
Strategic plan
Our Strategic Plan sets the direction for the work we will do together in the years ahead, towards our goal of achieving healthier rural people and thriving communities across Western NSW.

We are privileged to share this journey with the many diverse communities across Western NSW Local Health District and remain committed to working together to achieve real and lasting improvements in health and wellbeing.
Our priorities
Our strategic plan outlines how we will achieve our vision over the next 5 years, under our four priority areas of:
- World class rural healthcare, closer to home.
- Healthy communities, rural voices.
- A strong and empowered workforce.
- Smart, future ready systems.
Clinical Services Framework
Our Clinical Services Framework 2020-2025 (PDF 3.25MB) provides direction and priorities for our key clinical services for the next 5 years.
Facility clinical service plans
We have worked closely with our clinicians, staff, community, local government and partner organisations to develop Clinical Service Plans (CSPs) for our facilities. Each CSP considers how the unique health needs of our communities can be met into the future.
Reconciliation action plan
We are proud to have been the first District in NSW to commit to a Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).
Our vision for reconciliation is for all of us. We believe that non-Indigenous staff will lead the way in building relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, partner organisations, patients, families and carers to work collaboratively together to improve health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

It highlights achievements, outlines focus areas for improvement, demonstrates compassionate patient care, collaboration with families and carers and our ongoing focus on safety and governance.
