NESA strives to ensure students in NSW reach their highest potential at school. The 2016-2017 annual report highlights NESA's goals, and how they've been achieved in the last year.
Achievements include:
- Commencing a thematic review of writing – providing strategic leadership to improve the standard of education in NSW.
- Improving NSW performance in NAPLAN, PISA and TIMMS – commissioning the Australian Council for Education Research to help understand and review the differences between these tests.
- Implementing Stronger HSC Standards reforms – developing new syllabuses and minimum literacy and numeracy tests to improve outcomes for students in NSW.
