This ministerially approved grant supports the provision of health service for women who experience health disadvantage in the Blue Mountains and Lithgow local government areas.

Program objective
- Provide trauma sensitive and integrated clinical services to meet women’s screening, treatment and health management needs, prioritising marginalised and disadvantaged population groups.
- Provide a comprehensive, client centred, trauma informed counselling service, including intake, assessment and referral services; to enhance women’s mental health and emotional well-being.
- Address the needs of women with chronic illness and pain.
- Provide trauma informed therapeutic group processes to improve wellbeing of women experiencing impacts of complex trauma, anxiety and depression, low confidence and self esteem.
- Provide evidence-based group programs to improve health literacy and support behaviour change to reduce chronic disease risk factors for women and their families
- Conduct health promotion events to develop and collaborate on strategies that raise awareness of social determinants of health; and contribute to early intervention and prevention approaches targeting identified health issues.
- Provide accessible physical activity opportunities in a supportive environment to reduce the prevalence and impact of chronic illness and promote healthy lifestyles across the lifespan.
This program is funded and administered by Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District.
