Non-government Organisations (NGOs) are contracted by NSW Health to provide deliver alcohol and other drugs services and programs under the Ministerially Approved Grants (MAG) Program. These grants are administered through the Ministry of Health.

Program objective
Family Drug Support - A state-wide service that provides information, support and referral to families and friends impacted by AOD issues.
Life Education NSW – A state-wide service that works with partners, the Department of Education in particular, to deliver school-based education to primary school children 5-12 years of age.
Network of Alcohol and Other Drugs Agencies (NADA) – The NSW AOD NGO peak that promotes an evidence based and evidence informed effective, high quality, safe, and sustainable non-government AOD service sector.
Aboriginal Health and Medical Research Council (AH&MRC) – A state-wide service that develops capacity of NSW Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations Services to identify and respond to alcohol and other drug related harm.
AMS Cooperative Ltd known as "Redfern AMS" - provides services to reduce the impact of AOD on the Aboriginal community through providing culturally sensitive residential-based care and support for Aboriginal people engaging in or recovering from substance abuse, including links to support services.
Oolong Aboriginal Corporation - provides services in the Nowra region to reduce alcohol and other drug use related harm by delivering client-centred, high quality and safe residential rehabilitation, including for MERIT program clients.
The Medically Supervised Injecting Centre (Uniting Care NSW/ACT) – provides services to reduce the number of deaths from drug overdoses, provide a gateway to treatment and counselling for clients of the licensed injecting centre, reduce the number of discarded needles and syringes and the incidence of drug injecting in public places and assist in reducing the spread of blood-borne diseases, such as HIV infection or Hepatitis C.
Odyssey House NSW – provides services in the South Western and Western Sydney areas to reduce AOD related harm by delivering client-centred, high quality and safe AOD prevention and community development services and strengthen community partnerships to collectively contribute to preventing AOD harms in identified cultural and linguistically diverse communities.
This program is funded and administered by NSW Health.
