Program objective
The programs main objective is to support oyster farmers to develop and adopt new management practices that increase their resilience to weather and climate variability.
This program is administered by Local Land Services.
Eligibility
Who can apply
Oyster growers located in the Hunter LLS region (Wallis Lake, Manning River and Port Stephens including Karuah River) who have completed (or commenced) Oyster Farm Profiles with Hunter Local Land Services (LLS).
Who can’t apply
Oyster growers located outside of the Hunter LLS region.
Types of projects funded under this grant
Works involving the adoption of aquaculture practices that improve adaptation to climate change. Projects with both an environmental and productivity benefit are encouraged.
Example projects
Removal of fixed infrastructure and replacing with floating infrastructure to better adapt to climate variability.

- declaration of conflict of interest,
- WHS assessment,
- budget detailing in kind labour and cash contribution
- copy of business public liability insurance.

Each applicant is assessed by an assessment panel for their eligibility for the project this is based on the eligibility criteria(please refer to application guidelines)and ability to complete project
