Program objective
Crown Lands has been allocated $15 million in funding by the NSW Government to assist with the clean-up and restoration of flood damaged Crown Land assets following the February/March 2022 storm and flood event.
The 2022 Crown Lands Flood Recovery Funding Program supports Crown Land managers to clean-up and restore cultural, natural and built Crown Land assets damaged by this event.
The objectives of the Crown Lands Flood Recovery Funding Program are:

to support councils clean up and restore crown land affected by Flood Event AGRN 1012

to implement the government’s flood recovery program in the most equitable, efficient and effective way possible.
This program is administered by Crown Lands.
Eligibility
Eligibility under the Crown Lands Flood Recovery Funding Program is based on several threshold criteria. If applicants are unable to demonstrate that the project is able to meet all of the specified threshold criteria, the application is deemed ineligible and provided to the Assessment Panel for consideration.
Applications meeting the following criteria are eligible:
Applicant is a Council Crown Land Manager
Project is located on Crown Land
The project relates to clean up/restoration of Crown Land
The project provides a social, environmental, cultural or economic benefit
The project is appropriately costed and delivers value for money
Damage occurred as a result of AGRN1012
Damage sustained to an asset must be able to be demonstrated to be as a direct result of the February/March 2022 storm and flood event (AGRN 1012).
What is not eligible?
Works relating to damage sustained during the June 2022 onwards flood and storm events and the February/March 2021 flood and storm events.
Upgrades, improvements and aesthetic changes. Note: unless restoration requires upgrade to meet current standards.

Council Crown Land managers of AGRN1012.
Types of projects funded under this grant
Crown Land managers can apply for funding to support the clean-up and restoration of community, recreation, environmental and cultural assets on Crown Land damaged by storm and flood events occurring in February/March 2022.
Projects include but are not limited to flood and storm damaged bridges, parks, playgrounds, reserves, walking tracks, parking areas, visitor sites and cultural sites.
Assessment Criteria
The assessment process will analyse applicants against the eligibility requirements using a three-stage approval process as outlined in the 2022 Crown Lands Flood Recovery Program – Grant Application Assessment Guidelines. The assessment process will be completed by 11 January 2023 and projects will be awarded by the Minister for the Environment and Water.

What your application needs to include
Before completing your application, all 62 eligible councils, Office of Local Government Representatives and Crown Land managers will be invited to attend one of the 3 Funding for flood damage on Crown Land managed by councils workshops held for the following Crown Land regional areas:
- Metro – 10am 5 September 2022
- Hunter and North Coast – 11:30am 5 September 2022
- North West and South West – 3:30pm 5 September 2022
Attendees will be provided with a letter on how to apply and an application form for the Crown Lands Flood Recovery Program. Applicants must meet the eligibility requirements in the application form to be considered for funding. Please email floodrecovery@crownland.nsw.gov.au to register.

After the application is submitted
The applications will be assessed using the 2022 Crown Lands Flood Recovery Program 3 Stage approval process and both successful and unsuccessful applicants will be notified by the Flood Recovery Program Team.
