These grants support landholders of targeted properties to improve and manage the health of our landscape and build a sustainable future

Program objective
Funded by Central Tablelands Local Land Services, these grants assist landholders:
- ensuring that adequate ground cover is maintained during periods of drought and adverse seasonal conditions
- training and financial assistance to land managers to construct farm infrastructure that will improve grazing management and ground cover outcomes
- improvement of ground cover levels and reduce environmental degradation
Confinement feeding areas are carefully selected spaces set up to hold, feed and water livestock at hight stocking rates.
This program is administered by Local Land Services.
Eligibility
Who can apply
Owners of targeted properties that are:
- at least 200 hectares
- mixed farming enterprises must have a minimum area of 200 hectares of permanent pasture.
Who can’t apply
You cannot apply if:
- you are not the owner of the land
- your property is located outside of the Central Tablelands Local Land Services region
- you have overdue or non-compliant contracts with Local Land Services
- you have outstanding debt, including rates, owing to Local Land Services
- you do not meet the project standards and eligibility criteria.
Types of projects funded under this grant
- drought lots or stock containment areas
- space to keep livestock at high stock rates where they have access to water and feed
- ground cover management plan
What can’t you apply for
You cannot apply for funding for:
- bores and dams
- pumps and tanks
- portable feeders
- storage infrastructure, for example, hay sheds, silage pits, silos
- labour and earthworks.

Address the eligibility criteria
To be eligible for this incentive funding:
- any Central Tablelands Local Land Services or previous Catchment Management Authority agreements must be complete
- payment of any Local Land Services rates must be up to date
- public liability insurance to the value of $10 million dollars is required
- appropriate training must be completed run by Central Tablelands Local Land Services or completed online
- be required to sign a 10-year management agreement
- your property must be at least 200 hectares.

Address the assessment criteria
You must meet all standards as set out in the project standards and eligibility criteria.
Landholders applying for funding who meet the eligibility criteria will be placed into ballot to be shortlisted to receive funding.

After the application is submitted
Successful applications will be decided by: Team Leader Agricultural Extension
Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their applications.
A Central Tablelands Local Lands Services officer will undertake a property visit to verify shortlisted applicants prior to approval.
- All applications received will be collated and assessed against the project standards.
- Landholders who meet the eligibility criteria will be placed into a ballot to be shortlisted.
- Priority will be given to landholders who have previously completed training.
