This grant provides support for landholders in the Northern Tablelands LLS Region to develop natural resource management projects on their farms.

Program objective
Northern Tablelands Local Land Services currently has funding available to develop projects on-farm and we would like landholders to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to help us identify and support their natural resource priorities.
This year our main priorities are to protect natural waterways, habitat for threatened species, and Aboriginal heritage.
This program is administered by Local Land Services.
Eligibility
Who can apply
- Landholders who satisfy the grant guidelines and are approved through the application process.
Who can’t apply
- Landholders with outstanding Local Land Services debt.
- Work completed before or at the time of project proposal is not eligible for funding.
Types of projects funded under this grant
Funding is available for on-ground projects that achieve improved natural resource management on farm, including
- improving habitat for threatened species like woodland birds and koalas
- protecting and managing existing native vegetation
- planting native trees and shrubs (must be minimum 1ha in size)
- protecting and improving waterways (minimum 500m)
- providing alternate water points where stock are excluded from water sources
- protection of Aboriginal sites or artefacts
- Aboriginal cultural burning.
Funding is also available for on-ground projects, including
- management of riparian areas
- fencing of threatened communities
- addition of structures to support threatened species
- survey and monitoring programs on-farm.
Areas of focus include
- regent honey eater
- bushfire recovery assistance
- greater glider habitats
- cool country koala
- upland wetland identification and protection
- Ramsar wetlands habitat
- turtle nest protection.
Example projects
- Addition of artificial hollows for Greater Gliders in remnant vegetation in grazing areas.
- Monitoring of Koalas in farming properties.
- Fencing off wetlands and addition of stock watering points.

Prepare your application with this checklist
The EOI form is investigated and placed through an assessment process, including
- documentation on activity
- specifications
- insurance
- budget.
An equal or greater in-kind contribution is expected in this grant process.
Address the eligibility criteria
Eligibility covers individual landholders in the Northern Tablelands Local Land Services region.
The Northern Tablelands Local Land Services region is defined as within the Tenterfield, Glen Innes Severn, Inverell, Armidale Regional, Uralla and Walcha Shires.
Applicants must make an equal or greater contribution (in-kind or financial) for every dollar contributed to the project.

Expressions of interest will be assessed as they are received against set criteria including
- funding availability
- landholder contribution
- NSW and Australian Government priorities
- value for money.
