Program objective
The objectives of the P&C Transition Grant are to:
- Support approved parent-run OOSH services that are transitioning to P&C ownership.
- Support P&Cs who are taking on responsibility for transitioning OOSH services.
- Ensure continuing access for NSW Government primary school students to approved OOSH services impacted by the recent Provider Category Review.
This program is administered by Department of Education.
Eligibility
Who can apply
- Applicants must be an approved OOSH provider.
- The application must benefit an approved OOSH service operating in NSW. One application is allowable per service location.
- The approved OOSH service must have transitioned to P&C ownership as a result of the recent Provider Category Review.
- The approved OOSH provider must have transitioned to P&C as a result of the recent Provider Category Review.
- Applications must be submitted by an authorised officer; a person legally able to enter into agreements on behalf of the approved service provider.
Types of projects funded under this grant
Applicants may seek up to $10,000 per application (including GST) to reimburse mandatory one-off costs directly associated with the transition to P&C ownership, pending eligibility as detailed in the P&C Transition Grant 24-25 guidelines.

Prepare your application with this checklist
Applicants will have the opportunity to review the application form and its questions once the round opens. The application will request the following documentation, which applicants are advised to have ready before starting to fill out the form:
- Evidence of the transition of ownership of the approved service to the on-site school’s Parents and Citizens Association.
- Evidence of the transfer of ownership of the Provider Approval to the on-site school’s Parents and Citizens Association.
- Evidence of the payment of costs related to the transition of ownership to a P&C in the form of itemised, dated receipts and certified paid invoices.
Address the eligibility criteria
Each applicant, as part of an application response, must confirm that they meet the eligibility criteria.
Applicants that do not address the eligibility criteria in full may be excluded from the application process at the department's discretion.
Start the application
Applications can be submitted through the OOSH Grants website. Applicants will then be directed to the SmartyGrants online grants management system to start the application. Applicants will need to register online if they have not used SmartyGrants before, and registration is free and easy.
Note: If you are a new applicant to SmartyGrants, you will need to register and create a password. If you are already registered, you can log in with your existing username and password.

The P&C Transition Grant Program is a demand-driven grant program, which will be run across a single round in 2024-25. Funds will not be assessed competitively. Each application will be reviewed strictly in order of receipt and assessed according to the applicant’s ability to meet the P&C Transition Grant Program’s priorities and objectives as outlined in the P&C Transition Grant 24-25 guidelines.
