Program objective
This project aims to establish a vocational training centre in Glenwood (near Norwest in the City of Blacktown) referred to as a Hydrogen Centre of Excellence (HcoE), with the Plumbing Industry Climate Action Centre (PICAC).
PICAC have noted the $25 million grant from the NSW Government for the NSW HcoE will go towards a capital build on their Glenwood site. PICAC are currently engaging in a master planning exercise for the site and anticipate building works can commence in 18 months.
The HcoE is being developed as a response to skills shortages identified by the Australian Hydrogen Council and the HcoE will prepare the plumbing industry to meet the future demand of jobs in the hydrogen industry, with this project supporting the hydrogen industry to become a major player in NSW renewable energy.
This program is administered by Department of Climate Change, Energy, Environment and Water.
