Program objective
This funding supports facilities to accelerate their decarbonisation opportunities into the future and help create an innovative and thriving low carbon economy for NSW.
The TIP scoping study must deliver a final report that assesses the feasibility of identified transformational projects to inform decisions by government and private sector organisations. The study should at a minimum consider the following:
- Identify ambitious decarbonisation opportunities and timelines
-
review current net zero transition pathways for high emitting manufacturing facilities with significant Scope 1 emissions
-
outline opportunities for accelerated and deep decarbonisation, consistent with NSW achieving net zero emissions by 2050
-
identify the most transformative and ambitious opportunities.
-
-
Identify and quantify the required infrastructure:
-
Economic analysis of decarbonisation opportunities:
- including capital costs, operating costs, market and revenue forecasts and rate of investment return associated with the decarbonisation opportunities.
-
the costs and benefits of by-products or secondary markets that may be used by the facility or associated organisations in the region for decarbonisation.
-
Identification of barriers and recommended solutions:
- to overcome barriers to implementing transformative decarbonisation pathway opportunities
-
to ensure the appropriate scale of technologies is available to decarbonise products.
This program is funded and administered by Office of Energy and Climate Change.
