About the Project

The Blue Mountains Trail - Narrow Neck Road to Acacia Street Project will deliver two kilometres of active transport footpath and shared path as part of the Great Blue Mountains Trail. The project will provide tangible improvements to active transport infrastructure to promote active transport as a viable travel mode alternative to private car use.

Project Scope

This project will result in:

  • Up to 2 kilometres walking and cycle connection along Cliff Drive, Katoomba, between Narrow Neck Road and Acacia Street, via Cahills Lookout with drainage and landscaping if and where needed as part of the design.
  • Roadside barriers and kerb to separate traffic and path users if and where needed as part of the design.
  • Traffic calming and traffic control devices as required to ensure safety for path users if and where needed as part of the design.
  • Stormwater improvements or adjustments.
  • Bus stop upgrades.
  • Balustrades if and where needed as part of the design.
