Burwood Library Pod Project

About the Project

The Burwood Library Pod Project is a self-service kiosk open 24 hours/day, 7 days/week. The new library pod, to be located in Enfield, will utilise automated library vending machine technology to increase community access to services and resources.

The pod will house up to 600 books for loan and will be curated based on usage, membership data and community feedback. It will also provide free Wi-Fi access, allowing users to join the library and borrow books instantly, download eBooks and access the Internet.

This project will deliver greater access to the Burwood Library and its collection, enhancing customer experience and increasing the reach of the service to support lifelong learning and recreational opportunities. 

Project Scope 

The project features:

  • One library pod housing three automated library vending machines
  • Landscaping, signage and surrounding turf area
  • Adjoining accessible footpaths
