About the Project

The Burwood Park Inclusive Play Space project supports the transformation of Burwood Park into an inclusive and welcoming recreational precinct with accessible facilities and spaces suitable for all ages and abilities. The project revitalises the existing playground into an all abilities play space with an accompanying accessible toilet bock. The upgrades also include park BBQs, picnic shelters, furniture and an all-weather shade structure and outdoor chess board to enhance and transform the space into a public oasis in the middle of Burwood.

Project Scope

The project delivers:

  • Upgrade and expansion of existing playground into inclusive play space including playground equipment, soft fall, shade structure and accessible pathways.
  • Accessible double toilet.
  • Equal access BBQ’s and accessible pathways.
  • Picnic shelters and tables.
  • Wayfinding signage.
  • Park furniture including rubbish bin stations and bubbler.
  • Upgrade and expansion of outdoor chess board with all weather shade sail.
  • Landscaping.
  • Fencing.
  • Off-leash Dog area.

Funding:

NSW Government Funding: $2,469,171.00

Co-Contribution: $107,196.00

TOTAL PROJECT VALUE: $2,576,367.00
