About the Project

The Culture House project transforms an underutilised carpark into a vibrant Urban Park, Arts and Cultural Centre providing new facilities for arts, cultural and community use and a new park and public open space within the Burwood Town Centre. The project supports the overall vision and transformation of Burwood as a cultural and events destination.

Project Scope

The project delivers: 

  • Community and Cultural Centre: studio, theatrette, 2 x multipurpose halls, community lounge

  • Park: public plaza, lawn area, garden terrace, water play, tree planting and landscaping 

  • Café

  • Furniture, shade umbrellas and seating 

  • Carpark 

  • Bike storage 

  • Public art

  • Lighting

Funding:

NSW Government Funding: $20,287,697.00

Co-Contribution: $15,750,000.00

TOTAL PROJECT VALUE: $36,379,027.00
