About the Project

The Belmore and Lakemba Town Centre Renewal project builds on the existing local character and vibrant charm of both towns to enhance the streetscape, improve connectivity and pedestrian safety, support active transport, increase tree canopy and enable alfresco dining. The project is a direct investment into the liveability and prosperity of two exciting and evolving neighbourhoods along a key transport corridor.

Project Scope

The project features:

  • New street trees
  • Enhanced natural environment including gardens and rain gardens
  • Upgraded public domain including street furniture, paths, public artwork, shelter and lighting
  • Increased capability for outdoor dining and events
  • Prioritised pedestrian safety including crossing points and movement and accessibility upgrades
  • Active transport infrastructure.
