Wollondilly Performing Arts Centre Project

About the Project

The Wollondilly Performing Arts Centre is a landmark facility built to attract artists, performers, and art enthusiasts to the area. The building will host a wide range of community events from professional theatre productions to local community end-of-year performance recitals, gala and charity dinners, and large-scale conferences. 

The overall precinct project will be delivered in four key stages:

  • Stage 1 – Refurbishment of the Shire Hall and construction of the Children’s Services Building and Performing Arts Centre.
  • Stage 2 – Construction of a new Government Services Building to replace the existing Council Administration Building. 
  • Stage 3 – Development of a new Village Green open public space, further improvements the Shire Hall to enhance the Village Green and the demolition of the existing Council Administration Building.
  • Stage 4 – Construction of a new library, including connections to the Government Services Building and Performing Arts Centre, along with the repurposing of the existing library building.

Project Scope

  • Retractable theatre seating – enabling the auditorium to be reconfigured for wide range of activities 
  • Tension wire grid – increase the versatility of the space while prioritising the safety for the community 
  • Upgraded kitchen facility – provision of a commercial kitchen to match the variety of uses for the facility
