These ministerially approved grants support the provision of alcohol and other drug residential rehabilitation and Magistrates Early Referral Into Treatment (MERIT) program priority access residential rehabilitation.

Program objective
- Reduce alcohol and other drug use related harm by delivering client-centred, high quality and safe residential rehabilitation.
- Improve the health, wellbeing and social outcomes of clients by delivering comprehensive alcohol and other drug treatment and support interventions that include the following clinical care standards:
- intake
- comprehensive assessment
- care planning
- identification, responding to, and ongoing monitoring of risk
- monitoring treatment progress and outcomes
- transfer of care.
- Clients obtain a period where they are abstinent from alcohol and other drugs (except those prescribed for health and medical conditions) and develop health management, social and living skills for improved community connection.
WHOS is a therapeutic program aimed at achieving recovery from drug and alcohol dependence, incorporating harm minimisation and co-existing mental health initiatives.
This program is funded and administered by Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District.
