Work and Development Order Policy

This policy provides employees with information about Youth Justice's obligation, as an approved sponsor organisation, for the application and the administration of the Work and Development Order scheme in both Youth Justice Centres and community offices.

The purpose of the Work and Development Order (WDO) Policy is to provide Youth Justice NSW employees with information about how to administer WDO's:

  • to improve accessibility and completion of work and development orders for all young people in both custodial and community settings, and
  • to meet its obligation as an approved sponsor organisation that is consistent with Revenue NSW requirements.

The WDO scheme is jointly delivered by the Department of Communities and Justice, Revenue NSW and Legal Aid NSW.
