The new and upgraded walking tracks will connect Georges Head and Middle Head in Sydney Harbour National Park to the Sydney Harbour Scenic Walk.
The walk will provide upgraded and improved visitor facilities that protect and enhance the sites natural and cultural values.
Visitors will also be able to stay at one of the newly refurbished 1800s heritage short-stay properties on Sydney Harbour. One of these properties, Gardeners Cottage, is located in Nielsen Park and is a short walk to Shark Beach.
Environment Minister Matt Kean said Sydney Harbour is world-renowned for its beauty and it’s important the public can access these locations.
“When you’ve finished your walk you can put your feet up for a couple of nights at one of the newly refurbished heritage short-stay properties,” Mr Kean said.
