Regional communities can apply for grants to fund events that provide economic and tourism boosts.
Funding for regional events is part of the NSW Government’s $10 million Tourism Recovery package to support community organisers host a range of sporting, arts, cultural and lifestyle events.
Community event funding includes:
- Flagship Event Fund – grants of up to $20,000 to support event activities to attract tourists from outside their immediate regions
- Micro Event Fund – one-off grants of $10,000 to community-based events in bushfire or drought-affected areas. Eligible events must have total operating budgets of $75,000 or below.
Events must be held between 1 May 2020 to 31 December 2020. Events held in bushfire-affected areas during March 2020 and April 2020 may apply for Australian Government grants via Austrade.
The Tourism Recovery package will encourage visitors across NSW to help bushfire-affected businesses rebuild and promote their services.
Applications to the Flagship Event Fund and Micro Event Fund must be submitted by 25 March 2020.
