A push to increase the number of women running high growth businesses will see the NSW Government invest $150,000 in the non–profit Heads Over Heels.
Minister for Women Pru Goward said the NSW Government is committed to increasing the number of women in executive level positions.
"Growing the number of women in executive positions will take time, however investing in fantastic initiatives like Heads Over Heels will increase the opportunities available," Ms Goward said.
Heads Over Heels selects female CEOs running promising start ups and gives them access to strategic networks, connectors and investors to give their businesses the best chance of success.
The funding will go towards achieving the following outcomes over three (2015-17) years:
- Growing the number of women entrepreneurs supported by the Heads Over Heels portfolio by 60%.
- Increasing the number of entrepreneurs in the portfolio presented to senior business and community leaders by 67%.
- Quadrupling the number of case studies that document the learning and impact of Heads Over Heels.
- Doubling the number of events held with senior business and community leaders – it is expected this will lead to about 540 offers per year to assist female entrepreneurs.
