Local sporting organisations are invited to apply for funding for facility updates, community sporting events and initiatives to improve club development.
The program, run by the NSW Office of Sport, aims to increase participation in sport and active recreation.
Sport and active recreation helps individuals develop self-esteem, maintain health and fitness, and enjoy life, and helps communities nurture talented athletes.
Local sporting organisations can apply for grants of up to $20,000 as a part of a $4.5 million investment by the NSW Government.
Minister for Sport Stuart Ayres said that ensuring everyone has the opportunity to take part in local sport or has access to open space is a key priority for the NSW Government.
“In the past year, the Local Sport Grant Program has allocated funding for sports clubs in 93 electorates across the state, and it’s anticipated this year’s funding round will help hundreds more sporting groups,” Mr Ayres said.
Applicants must apply for the Local Sport Grant Program by 24 August 2018.
