New schools supporting a new economy
The investment will fund the construction of 1,600 new or refurbished classrooms and learning spaces across NSW. The plan is set to transform the State’s schools over the next 10 years, with a focus on building an innovative, future-focused educational infrastructure that will give our students every chance to succeed.
Creating successful students
The plan highlights the need for students to develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills. The government will build flexible learning spaces that use innovative technologies to better support student/teacher collaboration. They are currently working with world-leading educators, designers and architects to create classrooms for the future.
Schools of the future
Our new schools will better prepare students for a job in our changing economy. Learning spaces will provide more opportunities for group work and project based learning, with both indoor and outdoor recreation areas. The changes that have occurred in education in the past few years require new and innovative design responses to rethink how schools work, how teachers teach and how students learn now and into the future.
