New social housing for vulnerable older women
Minister for Family and Community Services and Minister for Social Housing Brad Hazzard said the new development of 20 apartments reaches out to some of the most vulnerable people in society.
Older single women – especially those with disabilities, mental illness, or who are domestic violence victims or widows – are at a higher risk of homelessness.
The 20 apartments are being built by the NSW Government’s Land and Housing Corporation and will be managed by the Women’s Housing Company, a community housing provider.
