The NSW Inspirational Women Online Showcase will feature videos of women sharing their stories and accomplishments. The videos will cover topics including career, health and wellbeing, and empowerment.
The showcase aims to enable women to build confidence and resilience to pursue careers and opportunities in traditionally male-dominated fields. It also helps make re-entry into the workforce after having a family less overwhelming.
Women are invited to submit their own video for the website. The videos will be shared on Women NSW’s website and social media channels via the hashtag #inspirationalwomenNSW.
Videos can be filmed on a smart phone or tablet and will be reviewed to ensure they highlight a diverse range of insights, stories and accomplishments. Women aged over 18 are encouraged to submit their videos by 31 January 2019.
Minister for Women Tanya Davies said these videos will inspire and encourage all women, young and old, to follow paths they may have otherwise overlooked, by seeing how others are navigating their way and overcoming challenges unique to women.
“If you feel you can offer advice or inspiration to other women by telling your story then we want to hear from you, and I encourage you to join our online mentoring community,” Mrs Davies said.
The project is part of the NSW Women’s Strategy 2018-2022, that aims to improve the economic, social and physical wellbeing of women and girls across NSW.
