Rent your holiday home to bushfire victims
The NSW Government's Bushfire Housing Assistance Service can link people who have lost their home with suitable accomodation. Financial assistance through rental bond loans and advance rent payments is available.
Minister for Families, Communities and Disability Services Gareth Ward said vacant holiday homes could provide a family with a safe and secure place to stay in their time of need.
“If you own a property in a bushfire-affected area that isn’t being used right now, it could be providing a family with a safe and secure place to stay in their time of need,” Mr Ward said.
People who need housing assistance as a result of the bushfires can call the Disaster Welfare Assistance Line on 1800 018 444 or visit a local Department of Communities and Justice Housing office.
