Social and affordable homes ready for tenants
The first homes in the Social and Affordable Housing Fund (SAHF) scheme are ready for tenants.
In March 2017, the NSW Government announced the providers chosen to deliver homes and support services under the first phase of the SAHF.
One of the providers, Uniting, has delivered 33 homes for people aged over 55 without children at home.
The homes are located across 18 local government areas in NSW. Tenants will be drawn from the NSW Housing Register.
Minister for Social Housing Pru Goward said this was an important step and milestone towards providing more social and affordable homes for vulnerable people and families across NSW.
“It will be a wonderful moment when the first tenants move in over the coming weeks and they will be the first of many under this great initiative,” Ms Goward said.
The SAHF is one of the key priorities of the Future Directions social housing reforms, and will deliver an additional 2200 social and affordable homes across NSW over the next four years.
