Thousands of students will be able to study at the state's first technology-focussed TAFE NSW campus in the Meadowbank Education and Employment Precinct from 2022.
The NSW Government is investing $154 million to transform TAFE NSW Meadowbank into a technology-focussed campus.
TAFE NSW Meadowbank will feature a new Multi-Trades and Digital Technology Hub, which will provide a unique industry innovation and collaboration space for interactive and industry-focussed training.
The transformed TAFE NSW campus, at the Meadowbank Education and Employment Precinct, will open 12 months earlier than originally planned.
The Meadowbank Education and Employment Precinct will also feature new primary and secondary schools. Future students will be able to access educational pathways at all stages of their learning, at one campus.
Minister for Skills and Tertiary Education Geoff Lee said the new Multi-Trades and Digital Technology Hub at TAFE NSW Meadowbank will be accelerated by 12 months to match the construction schedule of the two new schools.
“The new industry standard training facilities will enhance the capacity of TAFE NSW to deliver technology-focussed, specialist training in emerging ICT areas such as cyber-security,” Dr Lee said.
“The new state-of-the-art facilities will equip students with the job-ready skills employers are calling for — with industry collaboration and a digital focus embedded into the design.”
The Department of Planning, Industry and Environment will invite formal submissions on the State Significant Development Application for the technology-focussed TAFE NSW Meadowbank campus and new schools in October 2019.
