Responding to emergencies and climate events

Emergency resources and support

NSW Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (NSW DPIRD) coordinates and provides recovery assistance and advice to landholders and primary producers including commercial fishers, aquaculturists, foresters and other industries impacted by a natural disaster event.

Together, Local Land Services and NSW Agriculture and Biosecurity deliver agricultural, animal and community support during emergencies by:

  • helping primary producers and animal owners prepare for emergencies
  • coordinating support during emergencies affecting animals and plants, including animal welfare
  • providing recovery assistance to primary producers after emergencies.
