Regional Drought Resilience Planning
Planning by the regions, for the regions.
The Regional Drought Resilience Planning Program is being delivered with joint funding from the Australian Government’s Future Drought Fund and the NSW Government.
The Regional Drought Resilience Planning Program provides support to identified Local Government Areas in NSW to develop drought resilience plans that can be implemented by councils and their communities.
Applications open for Regional Drought Resilience Planning Program Round 2, 2023-2025
The NSW and Australian Governments have expanded the program to more regions in NSW following the pilot phase of the program. The program provides councils grants to develop Regional Drought Resilience Plans. Councils may also be eligible to obtain funding to begin implementation of their plans.
The program requires councils to work at a regional scale and encourages them to think about drought resilience beyond water security, considering environmental and social resilience needs.
