Meet your emcee, Kristie Ivone

Kristie Ivone is the founder of Boas Language Academy, a social enterprise language school based in Albury Wodonga that is building stronger, more inclusive regional communities through language and connection.
Driven by a passion for regional development and belonging, Kristie created Boas to support migrants living in regional areas and to help bridge cultural gaps within the wider community. Through fun, immersive language courses for adults and children, Boas turns language from a barrier into a connector, creating opportunities for understanding, confidence and connection.
Kristie’s work sits at the intersection of education, community development and social impact, with a strong focus on bringing people together and strengthening regional communities through shared experience.
In recognition of her leadership and innovation, Kristie was named the 2026 NSW/ACT winner of the AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award. She will go on to represent New South Wales at the national AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award Gala Dinner in Canberra.
What is the Hidden Treasures Honour Roll?
The Hidden Treasures Honour Roll acknowledges the important volunteer roles women and girls play within NSW regional, rural and remote communities.
It is a way to acknowledge and thank women and girls who volunteer through a public tribute to recognise the vast number of women and girls who give their time and energy to help others. Women and girls are nominated by peers, friends, or their volunteer organisation and those over the age of 18 can also self-nominate to be included on the digital Honour Roll.
Hidden Treasures has recognised 1,361 women and girls volunteering in regional, rural and remote NSW since 2010.
