For more than 20 years, Anna Noon has devoted herself to making her local community in Lake Macquarie more connected, inclusive and resilient. With tertiary qualifications in both social work and sustainable living, Anna has supported, advocated for and worked with some of the most vulnerable members of the community – including children and young people who have experienced abuse and neglect, and those with high and complex needs. She has also worked with local and state governments departments, businesses and community members to accelerate the adoption of sustainable practices.
Anna is passionately committed to social, environmental and climate justice, and has a distinguished volunteer history. She has led multiple high-profile environmental projects, sits on numerous volunteer committees, has coordinated several fundraising events, and regularly provides inspirational guest presentations and workshops to schools, local businesses and community members – predominantly on nature-based solutions to climate change.
Anna recently spearheaded the establishment of not-for-profit organisation The Groundswell Collective, which is focused on sustainability, and has received numerous awards and accolades for her efforts within the community.
