Location

Located at the far end of south-eastern coastal NSW, Bega is the country heart of the Sapphire Coast and the economic centre for the Bega Valley.

Getting there

Bega is located halfway between Sydney and Melbourne and is around 5.5 hours' drive from Sydney, and under 3 hours' drive from Canberra.

Patient transfers and direct admissions

Southern's District Patient Flow Unit coordinates patient movements between hospitals in Southern NSW Local Health District, and to or from hospitals outside our district.

The unit manages transfers, coordinates conference calls between referring and accepting clinicians, confirms bed availability, and books patient transport so care is timely and safe.
