Rebecca Wark, Health Infrastructure Chief Executive said the Arts in Health program is designed to guide the integration of arts into the NSW healthcare system.
“Incorporating arts and culture in health facilities has a profoundly beneficial impact on the wellbeing and experiences of patients, carers and staff,” Ms Wark said.
“It also provides opportunity to work with the local community to instill strong cultural connections and sense of community ownership in the new hospital.”
There are 6 categories and photographers can enter a maximum of 10 photos, with $500 prize money on offer for the winning entries.
Five of the categories celebrate the district’s native and local flora, specifically Boronia, Wattle, Lilac, Bluebell and Eucalyptus.
The flora theme was chosen to incorporate local elements into the new health facility and also provide an atmosphere that is calm and uplifting.
The sixth category is a rainbow theme, and the winning photograph will be featured in the hospital’s paediatric unit.
The photographs are planned to be displayed at staff stations in the building.
The competition is open to people who are living in, working in or visiting the Goulburn, Mulwaree Council, Upper Lachlan Shire and Yass Valley Council Local Government Areas (LGAs).
All works submitted for the competition must be original works taken within these LGAs by the person who is entering the competition.
Entries must be submitted by Friday 30 October 2020.
To enter, download the competition form and details from the project website.
