The new Alfred Street Bridge, located between James Ruse Drive and the Gasworks Bridge, Parramatta, is now open.
The 4.5m-wide, 200m-long active transport link provides access to the 5.7km Parramatta Light Rail shared walking and bike-riding path between Parramatta and Carlingford that was delivered as part of the Stage 1 project.
The bridge also connects to the Tramway Avenue light rail stop on the southern side of Parramatta River, as well as to more than 20km of cycleways and walking paths around Parramatta.
It will provide residents and visitors with improved access to local businesses, educational facilities and recreational spaces along the corridor, while promoting healthy and active lifestyles.
