NESA strives to ensure students in NSW reach their highest potential at school. The 2019–2020 annual report highlights NESA's goals, and how they've been achieved in the last year.
Achievements include:
- Commitment to Aboriginal education – continued the reconciliation journey developed in partnership with NSW Aboriginal Education Consultative Group.
- Delivery of the NSW Curriculum Review – streamlined and strengthened what will be taught in NSW schools over the next 4 years.
- Achievements in quality teaching – introduced dedicated Aboriginal education units to Initial Teacher Education (ITE) programs, revised the Highly Accomplished and Lead Teacher (HALT) Policy and maintained Australian Professional Standards for teachers.
