If we accredit you at Proficient Teacher, we will issue you a certificate.
You will start your first maintenance period on the day of our accreditation decision.
Issues that may affect your application
Learn more about issues that may affect your application:
If we are considering making a decision that does not align with your principal/TA Delegate's recommendation, we will discuss this with your principal/TA Delegate. Your principal/TA Delegate may contact you to discuss revisions to your application.
If necessary, we will contact you to discuss the matter before making our final decision.
We will tell you in writing of our decision to not accredit you. The written notice will outline the reasons for the decision.
If you are still within your accreditation timeframe:
- You will remain accredited at the Provisional or Conditional level.
- You can continue to teach until the end of your timeframe.
- Your Proficient Teacher application will be closed.
- You can reapply by starting a new application and submitting it within your timeframe.
- You can seek support from another school/service or employer for a new application, but it must be within your timeframe.
If you are running out of time to achieve your Proficient Teacher accreditation you may have grounds to apply to us for an extension. Your accreditation will cease if you can’t achieve Proficient Teacher accreditation by the end of your maximum timeframe.
