“In my apprenticeship I learn how to care for the Living Collection at the Australian Botanic Garden- Mount Annan. I’m playing a role in preserving valuable genetic diversity while also fostering a space for the community to enjoy.”

“My traineeship helped me connect what I was learning straight away to the real tasks. The most unexpected part has been the financial work, I never thought I’d be capable of this and it’s changed how I see my own capabilities.”

“No two days are ever the same! I am surprised by how quickly I’m learning, and I feel accomplished knowing I’m helping build a positive and supportive workplace.”

“You can learn and earn! The opportunity to expand both my knowledge and skills whilst gaining work experience has been amazing.”

“The coolest part is that you’re trusted with real work, you’re not just watching, you’re doing. My traineeship has placed me into an IT role, where communication and collaboration skills are a huge part.”

“My traineeship is like a paid fast‑track into IT, I’ve been able to get hands‑on tech experience - real tickets, real problems, real learning. You get to develop confidence quickly because you’re trusted to solve real problems and see how technology supports the public service behind the scenes.”
