Far West LHD cancer services
We have a range of oncology and cancer services based in Broken Hill Hospital, and outreach support to people in other Far West towns and communities.
We also promote screening to increase the early detection of various cancers.
A breast screen or screening mammogram is the most effective way to find breast cancer early.
BreastScreen targets women aged 50-74 to have a screening mammogram every two years.
BreastScreen regularly visits Broken Hill Hospital and travels to smaller communities in Far West.
Screening is free and no referral is needed.
