What is workplace mental health coaching

Through confidential one-on-one sessions, your coach will help address issues or identify risks to mental health within your business and give you practical tools and strategies to manage them. They can also help you fine tune any existing initiatives you have in place.

Topics you could discuss include but aren’t limited to:

  • coping with stress or overwhelm
  • resolving workplace conflict
  • managing staff who have poor mental health
  • improving workplace culture
  • creating a workplace mental health policy
  • responding to incidents.

92% of participants agree that the recommendations made by their coach are achievable and the coaching has met their needs.

What participants are saying about our coaching

“There is no way I could have achieved what I have without the support of my coach. I never would have assessed for psychosocial hazards, created a mental health group, sent out resources, looked into setting up EAP or created a mental health policy without this service.”Small business director, research consulting.

Common questions about the coaching

How is the coaching delivered?

It’s your choice:

  • online or over the phone
  • at a time that suits you, five days a week from 8am to 6pm
  • your sessions can be as long or short as you need to manage your priorities.
How much time does it take?

You have access to four hours with your coach. How you use this time is up to you. You can speak to your coach for 15 minutes in one session, and an hour in the next. You don’t have to use all four hours if you don’t want to. The service is flexible and can be worked around your schedule.

What do I need to bring to my first coaching session?

If you already have a topic in mind, you can bring this to your session, or your coach can help identify areas to address and guide you from there.

Who are the coaches and what are their credentials?

Our coaches are highly trained experts in workplace mental health from Transitioning Well, an organisation whose core focus is to work with organisations to help their people live well and work well.

Transitioning Well’s workplace psychologists have been delivering our coaching service for over a year now, helping businesses achieve great outcomes.

Is the program confidential?

Discussions with your coach are confidential. We do not receive details of your individual coaching sessions. Transitioning Well provides us with non-identifying data for the purposes of evaluating the service and improving delivery.

I’ve heard of the free workplace mental health training too. Can I do both and should I do training first?

We recommend that you register for coaching and training at the same time and our providers can schedule each service to suit your needs.

You can do them at the same time, or your coach can help you determine which training is right for you and your team.

There’s been an incident in my workplace. Can coaching help?

For immediate support, phone 000 or access crisis support services.

Our coaches are highly trained experts who can guide you in providing the support your staff will need after a workplace incident.
