Stage 2 of the $200 million redevelopment will include a refurbished and expanded Emergency Department, a multi-storey carpark, and a new multi-storey Clinical Services Building.
The Clinical Services Building will include:
- Medical Assessment Unit
- Intensive Care and High Dependency Unit
- Coronary Care and Cardiac Investigations Unit
- Ambulatory Care Centre
- Transit Lounge
- Inpatient Units.
Minister for Health Brad Hazzard said the redevelopment was about providing a better experience for patients, carers, staff and visitors to Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital.
“This redevelopment is a purpose-built, one-stop shop that meets the needs of the community well into the future,” Mr Hazzard said.
The first stage of the project at Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital saw the construction of the STAR (Surgery, Theatres, Anaesthetics and Recovery) building.
The STAR building included eight new operating theatres, a central sterilising service, and surgical in-patient units.
