Interest sought to develop Central Barangaroo
NSW Premier Barry O’Farrell said he expected strong local and international interest to be part of one of the most significant waterfront renewal projects underway anywhere in the world.
“This is an important next stage in the development of Barangaroo – it’s a competitive process to bring forward the best and most innovative ideas from around the world.”
Registrations of interest in developing Central Barangaroo are open, with the formal call for Expressions of Interest (EOI) being issued in mid-April.
The government is encouraging submissions from investment partners and designers interested in delivering and investing in the precinct.
The Barangaroo Delivery Authority is also interested in submissions from people wanting to: make Central Barangaroo their new address, finance development; purchase completed projects or provide other types of involvement. All land will be subject to 99 year leases.
The authority is also seeking interest from commercial, civic, cultural, community and educational uses that the project could accommodate.
