The 10-storey Bright Alliance building will deliver world-class health care and medical research under one roof, including:
- research and dedicated outpatient clinics for adolescents and young adults run by the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network
- treatment for cancer and blood disorders and clinical trials at the Prince of Wales Hospital’s Nelune Comprehensive Cancer Centre
- clinical trials by The University of New South Wales Scientia Clinical Research facility.
The building will provide patients with more opportunities to participate in clinical trials in:
- cancer
- ophthalmology
- neurology
- addiction medicine
- rheumatology
- paediatrics.
Premier Gladys Berejiklian said the government is committed to delivering world’s best practice when it comes to health services.
“As well as improving care for cancer patients and adolescents and young adults with chronic illnesses, the Bright building will be home to cutting-edge medical research,” Ms Berejiklian said.
Minister for Health and Medical Research Brad Hazzard said the community would benefit from the high-quality medical experts the facility will attract.
