The precinct, to be located at Liverpool Hospital, will showcase Liverpool as a hub for innovation and emerging technologies, boost the economy and double the number of jobs in the health and education sectors to about 30,000 by 2036.
Redevelopment works will increase the capacity of Liverpool Hospital’s emergency department, neonatal intensive care, maternity and critical care, as well as day surgery and radiology.
It will also include:
- a comprehensive and integrated cancer centre
- additional inpatient and ambulatory care capacity
- integration of ambulatory and acute care services.
The NSW Government will invest a total of $2.3 billion in world-class hospitals and health services in 2018-19, with $8 billion over the next four years for new facilities, upgrades and redevelopments.
