Passengers are now able to transfer between trains, buses, cars, taxis and bikes at Newcastle’s new transport interchange.
The Newcastle Light Rail will also run from Newcastle Interchange to Pacific Park when it opens in 2019.
Minister for Transport and Infrastructure Andrew Constance said the project was more than a new building.
“It also includes new train stabling and turn-back facilities to the east of Hamilton Station, signalling work, a new pedestrian bridge and staff facilities,” Mr Constance said.
Newcastle Interchange is part of the Revitalising Newcastle program that is delivering transport and urban transformation projects in the city centre.
