Motorists are urged to stay safe behind the wheel by refreshing their understanding of NSW road rules during Road Rules Awareness Week.
The advice follows improved statistics on the state’s roads in 2021, with 270 fatalities the lowest road toll recorded since 1923.
Metropolitan Roads Minister Natalie Ward said it is an important reminder to all road users that their actions and decisions while behind the wheel affect everyone.
"We need to treat everyone on the roads as if they are loved ones, as if they are family,” Mrs Ward said.
“Every decision we make can have consequences, and sometimes they can be tragic and avoidable. We have a shared responsibility to make our roads safer and following and understanding the road rules is vital.”
