North West Rail Link – Windsor Road bridge approved

Published: 26 May 2014
The 270-metre cable bridge over Windsor Road, part of the North West Rail Link project, has been approved by the Department of Planning & Environment.

The $340 million bridge will be anchored by two towers up to 45m tall, with cables that support the bridge surface.

Minister for Transport Gladys Berejiklian said the iconic bridge is an important transport link between Epping and Rouse Hill. The project is vital to the growth of communities and businesses in Sydney’s North West.

“For the first time people in Rouse Hill will have their own modern train station and now it will be complemented by a well-designed, spectacular looking bridge that will be a landmark in the region”, Ms Berejiklian said.

The project is scheduled to be completed by 2017. The train line is scheduled to be running by 2019.
